Mental health often remains a taboo topic in our communities. Nonetheless, 1 in 5 children and youth in Ontario is impacted by mental health situations. Mental health experiences are diverse and require different support. Start by becoming familiar with different mental health experiences.

As you learn about mental health, keep in mind that communities within Ontario experience mental health situations differently. The Mental Health Commission, for instance, created this document to “shine a light” on mental health in Black communities.
