Youth Advocates Across Canada

Are you passionate about gender equality and engaging young men to be allies and change makers?

Are you committed to challenging rigid gender norms and stereotypes as well as harmful attitudes and behaviours?

White Ribbon is looking for 22 Youth Leaders ages 16 to 26 from across Canada, to be a part of our virtual National Youth Advisory Group!

The National Youth Advisory Group will be reflective of Canada’s regional, linguistic, and cultural diversity, and will comprise distinct English and French groups. Pour la page web française, veuillez cliquer ici.

 

Volunteer Information

  • This initiative will run from January to July 2022.

  • We will offer a significant honorarium compensation to all participants in recognition of their time and engagement.

  • Promote gender equality by challenging rigid gender norms and stereotypes, as well as harmful attitudes and behaviours.

  • Encourage young men to be gender equality allies and change makers, to seek help when needed, and to build their capacity to be part of the solution in preventing all forms of gender-based violence.

  • Develop and implement a targeted youth-focused engagement strategy: provide opportunities for young men to learn about gender equality issues and to better understand them.

  • Engage youth in your communities by organizing grassroots events, workshops (live and virtual), and through outreach on social media.

  • Promote White Ribbon’s “Day After Day” Campaign through digital content creation and social media outreach.

  • Participate virtually on a regular basis in strategic meetings of the National Youth Advisory Group, to contribute to the targeted plan and its broad activation.

  • Add your voice, promote dialogue, and influence your peers!

Youth Advisory Ontario

Are you passionate about youth engagement, gender equality, racial justice, accessibility, and inclusion? Do you have an interest in the development of youth outreach strategies and interactive digital content?

White Ribbon is looking for 10 Youth Leaders ages 16 to 26 from across Ontario, who are reflective of the province’s diversity, to be a part of our virtual Youth Advisory Council!

Volunteer Information

  • This is an intensive short-term project that will require a significant time commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week from January to March 2022.

  • We will offer a substantial honorarium compensation of $1000+ to all participants in recognition of their time and engagement.

  • December 7, 2021

  • Develop outreach strategies to reach vulnerable and disenfranchised youth: Identify where youth are, how to reach them, and how to meaningfully engage with them.

  • Pilot test interactive digital content for a new online youth-centred program, including innovative gaming activities, multimedia, and webinars, as part of White Ribbon's relaunched website.

  • Engage in participatory research contributing to the outreach strategies, story development, and digital objectives, which will not only be aimed at youth, but led and driven by youth.

  • Evaluate and identify opportunities, and propose modifications to White Ribbon’s outreach strategies, social media channels, and website.

  • Support a social marketing campaign, and its promotion across the province.

  • Participate virtually on a regular basis in strategic meetings of the Youth Advisory Council, with White Ribbon staff, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
