  • Who We Are

White Ribbon is Canada’s leading organization engaging men and boys to prevent gender-based violence, misogyny and discrimination, while promoting healthy masculinities. We are a Canadian registered charity with over three decades of experience in prevention, education, and culture change.

  • Our Origins

White Ribbon was founded in response to the 1989 Montréal Massacre, where 14 women—engineering students—were murdered in an act of gender-based violence and hate. That tragedy sparked a national movement to engage men and boys as part of the solution.

  • Our Mission

We work to end all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination by promoting gender equality, consent, allyship, healthy relationships, emotional intelligence, and safer, more inclusive communities. Our approach is prevention-focused, accountability-driven, and grounded in gender-transformative and intersectional frameworks.
