Corporate

  • adidas

    adidas anted to demonstrate their strong belief in gender equality. The partnership with White Ribbon has been growing each year to address gender equity in the international sports communities. The partnership approach is multifaceted: a male allyship program that includes a toolkit, a social media campaign and hands-on training so that male athletes are better equipped to prevent sexual harassment and support women athletes. The Global campaign With Women, We Run, championed by adidas Runners in partnership with White Ribbon, includes the Ridiculous Run PSA and the delivery of a training program for its coaches and team captains, focusing on improving the safety and status of women in sports.

  • Barrick Gold Corporation

    Barrick Gold Corporation aspired to impart good will, good intentions and respectful engagements with employee groups and the diverse communities surrounding their work sites. To help, White Ribbon developed and implemented training and policies to address the root causes of gender-based violence and strengthen the ability of all community members to be allies in stopping this violence.

  • Electricity Human Resources Canada

    Electricity Human Resources Canada

    Electricity Human Resources Canada wanted to deepen their organization’s inclusion practices and reached out for help from White Ribbon. As a first step in the partnership, they engaged White Ribbon to moderate a panel on male allyship in the workplace at their Agents of Change Conference.

  • Hydro One

    Hydro One

    Hydro One is committed to demonstrating strong allyship and solidarity with women, members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and people of all genders. Each year, they engage White Ribbon to educate their employees and mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Hydro One is also a key sponsor of White Ribbon.

  • Ontario Power generation

    Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has been demonstrating its commitment to preventing gender-based violence and promoting gender equality year after year. They have asked White Ribbon to engage OPG employees in workshops, trainings, and panel discussions and to amplify its commitment to a gender-based, violence-free world by being a key sponsor of White Ribbon fundraising events.

  • Sunwing

    Sunwing sought to create a healthy workplace culture, equal to their status of a leader in the vacation and tourism industry. To secure that end, they partnered with White Ribbon to create policies and deliver training to prevent gender-based violence and to foster allyship. Culture shifted so that employees at all levels were equipped to be part of the solution to gender-based violence.​

  • Toronto Argonauts Football Club

    Toronto Argonauts Football Club

    Toronto Argonauts Football Club (‘Argos’) wanted to do their part to promote the positive role men and boys can play in ending all forms of violence against women and girls so they partnered with White Ribbon to help them develop and implement the Huddle Up and Make the Call program. The program ran in participating high schools across the Greater Toronto Area and included athlete speeches at assemblies, a symposium, student and school certificates, in-stadium and fan-based promotion Argo games, an interactive social media campaign, and an Argo video entitled #littleACTIONS.

  • ​​Toronto Maple Leafs

    The Toronto Maple Leas wanted to demonstrate their commitment to gender equality and embrace their role in preventing gender based violence. That vision led them to partner with White Ribbon to create the Men of Quality campaign. New ideas emerged: what healthy masculinity looks like as an athlete, and as a human being.

  • The United Steelworkers and the Canadian Football League Players’ Association

    The United Steelworkers and the Canadian Football League Players’ Association

    The United Steelworkers and the Canadian Football League Players’ Association are partnering with White Ribbon to develop and implement a national strategy to address the role of men in promoting messages of healthy masculinities and allyship. They strongly believe that men have an important role in changing the culture in our workplaces and communities. Ending gender-based violence is not the work of only women—men have a role to play in ending this violence.

  • Vale

    Vale wanted to promote gender equality and healthy masculinities, and prevent workplace harassment. Vale engaged White Ribbon to hold a series of discussion sessions with their employee groups in Canada, Brazil and the UK during 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence. This work was reinforced through an original Vale-White Ribbon pledge and the Allies of Quality campaign. Vale was also part of White Ribbon’s Change Begins Here: Transforming Male-Dominated Sectors panel event to discuss their work building safer and more equitable workplaces by promoting male allyship.

Community

  • Be the Program, Students Commission of Canada

    White Ribbon and Students Commission of Canada are working together to offer youth across Canada the opportunity to design, implement and evaluate teen/youth programs to prevent dating-violence. With support from program curriculum design experts in Design Labs, youth will research, design, and implement their own dating violence prevention programs and initiatives across Canada. ​The project is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

  • Briser les complicités inavouées et créer des milieux de vie solidaires

    White Ribbon is providing technical expertise to the Fédération des OSBL d'Habitation de Montréal's project to promote healthy relationships and dating violence prevention for youth facing precarious housing situations. White Ribbon is creating a toolkit and workshops to empower youth and support workers to implement peer-led dating violence prevention campaigns. The project is funded by the Secrétariat à la condition féminine du Québec.

  • Federation of Canadian Municipalities

    Federation of Canadian Municipalities

    White Ribbon partnered with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to mitigate the online harassment of women leaders and support their active participation and leadership in local government. White Ribbon delivered a series of monthly workshops in English and French to municipal leaders across Canada to increase their allyship and advocacy skills. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities has also partnered with the Municipalities of Newfoundland and Labrador Association for White Ribbon to provide training for their municipal leaders. In addition, White Ribbon provided training in Cambodia on gender-based violence prevention and how male allies can advance women’s leadership in their local government.

  • Kenya Equity in Education Project (KEEP) Phase 2, World University Service Canada (WUSC)

    White Ribbon is partnering with the World University Service Canada (WUSC) to promote girls' education in Kakuma and Dadaab Refugee Camps, in Kenya. Phase II of the KEEP Project seeks to improve learning outcomes; increase the numbers of girls remaining in school and transitioning to the next grade; and create a positive, supportive environment that values and promotes girls’ learning.

Education

  • Lassonde School of Engineering, York University

    engaged White Ribbon to support cultural change towards gender equity. White Ribbon’s assessment led to the development of the Lassonde 50:50 Gender Parity and Inclusion Strategy which, when rolled out, led the York community to address the root causes and barriers to gender parity in Engineering. These efforts initiated culture change, improving gender parity.

  • The University of Regina

    took their responsibility of providing a safe school environment seriously. In partnership, a climate survey assessed attitudes, awareness and understanding of gender-based violence on campus and the Man Up Against Violence™ program was strengthened. Then White Ribbon developed three intersectional training modules tailored for the Man Up Against Violence initiative to help the campus community explore healthy masculinities, promote gender equity and end gender-based violence.

  • St. Michael’s College School

    ​committed to shifting changes in culture in response to significant incidents of sexual violence and bullying. To make this happen, White Ribbon delivered a rapid response training program for all educators and conducted a strengths-based school-wide training. Then a cultural change strategy was developed for the entire St. Michael’s community (students, educators, staff, parents, and alumni) to promote healthy and equitable gender norms and non-violence.

Government

  • The United Nations Department of General Assembly and Conference Management

    needed concrete help to advance their Gender Parity Strategy. White Ribbon delivered a training program that engaged men as allies in the workplace to promote gender equality and a healthy organizational culture. The participatory and interactive training created a safe space for participants to discuss and deconstruct gender stereotypes that lead to gender inequalities. These sessions mobilized men to inspire and motivate their colleagues to address discriminatory stereotypes and change the discourse among their peers.​​​

  • The Department of Women and Gender Equality

    wanted to reach youth across Canada with messages about gender-based violence prevention. Building on our successful intersectional strategies in engaging men and boys, we conducted an environmental scan, consulted youth belonging to equity-seeking groups and developed a framework for youth to learn about gender-based violence. ​​

  • The Department of Women and Gender Equality

    sought to enhance their commitment to achieving gender equality by deepening efforts to engage men and boys in ending gender-based violence. They engaged White Ribbon to create a foundational document that informed a national strategy on engaging men and boys. White Ribbon’s report provided an intersectional, evidence-based approach to engaging men and boys, helping multiple sectors across the country benefit from a deepened understanding of how to influence men and boys.
