Parker P is a wholly-owned social enterprise of White Ribbon. It is a unique business structure and relationship that presents opportunities for our operations.
We value all of our clients that have engaged Parker P’s services and in doing so have also supported the work of White Ribbon. We’ve had many successes and built a strong set of relationships not just with our diverse roster of clients but also in the broader Canadian marketplace. It’s been an exciting time to be building a start-up business in the changing landscape for equity and violence prevention.
In our 2018 review of all of our assets and activities, including the mission and purpose of Parker P within our organization, we have made the decision to align the brand, identity, and reincorporate the work of Parker P with White Ribbon. We believe that this merger and its associated efficiencies will best serve Parker P’s clients who are focused on delivering gender equity and violence prevention solutions in the workplace.
Current projects and relationships will continue with the support of White Ribbon staff and my personal attention in leading the transition. In fact, White Ribbon staff have consistently played a key role in virtually all Parker P projects. This will continue with little interruption. Internally, we have taken steps to ensure the efficient transfer of knowledge, documentation and workflows to the White Ribbon team and we do not anticipate any disruptions to existing projects.
This transition also meant a change in our staffing resources: Chi Nguyen, who has been with Parker P since its inception will be moving on to a new opportunity. We are immensely grateful to Chi for her entrepreneurial spirit as she led Parker P over the past couple of years, and we wish her well in her future work. We are also grateful to Lyle Shipley who took the helm while Chi was away caring for her growing family in 2018.
